Mrs. Lisa Baxter

It is an honor and a privilege to be an assistant principal at Chalkville Elementary School.  Prior to my time at Chalkville Elementary School I taught first, second and fifth grade; I have also served as an academic coach for the Alabama Reading Initiative and for Jefferson County Schools.  I am married to Jeff Baxter and we have four children: Alex, Avery, Savannah and Olivia.  When we aren’t attending school events with our kids, I enjoy volleyball, reading and gardening.

At Chalkville Elementary, we strive to provide a safe place for everyone to learn and grow.  Our school environment embraces each day as an opportunity to enhance the academic success and overall well-being of all children entering our doors.  Faculty and staff work together to plan engaging lessons in skill based instruction that allows for exploration of new material and reinforcing the knowledge already acquired.

One of my favorite Greek proverbs, “Whatever is good to know is difficult to learn” guides my time in education.  As the world continues to change, so should our schools.  So as we trek down this educational path together, I can’t wait to see the advances in OUR kids.
